Triumph Spitfire Engine Strip Down
After many years of owning a Triumph Spitfire Mk3 which is currently fitted with a MkIV engine I thought it was about time I stripped down the spare Spitfire Mk3 FD engine I've had in my shed for the last few years; in preparation for rebuild and reuniting the FD engine with the Spitfire Mk3 Project

Road Trip to a Railway

For a while now Conor and I have talked about taking our Spitfires to a heritage railway for a day out, and at long last we did! I thought I'd bring my cameras along to filmed the day, although sadly much of the exhibitions we're closed mostly due to being out of season, so I cobbled together what I could with the time we had for you all to enjoy! We had a great time at the Gloucestershire and ...

The thing about using a classic car all year round means it comes with faults you just have to deal with there and then. Sometimes you get lucky and its an easy fix, other times you have to improvise until you can get the part. As I know I've got a fault on the Rover, I thought this time it would be nice to bring you all along to see if I could fix it on the same day I found the fault

    Hi sir, I am Zack from California and I have a Triumph a 67 model the spitfire 4 mk2. My engine is an 1100 cc engine. My question is would it be possible to mate my original transmission to the 1300 cc or the 1500 cc variant of this engine? Thanks!

    • @SteveDentonClassics
      @SteveDentonClassics Месяц назад

      In a word yes, you can mount any Triumph Spitfire engine to any Triumph Spitfire gearbox, the only real issues you’ll have are 1500 gearboxes need a different clutch plate, but with what your suggesting, just use the clutch you have on your current engine. Then the other thing is, your current gearbox will be a 3 rail, there not as strong as a single rail, fitted to the 1500s but they are still interchangeable with what you are doing

It took me a lot of hunting around to get all the correct fixings for my Mk3 hardtop as no one makes anything for them. Once fitted it changes the dynamics of the car.
